The 1920 Herschell-Spillman portable classic wood carousel was a gift from Grumman and its three rows of horses and two chariots are open for rides daily (weekends only during the off season).

At the Village Blacksmith Shop, our blacksmith conducts demonstrations of iron working with hands-on experiences for children . Offshore we own, operate, and maintain the historic Long Beach Bar (Bug) Lighthouse. Orient Beach State Park features one of the most pristine maritime forests on the North Fork, with red cedar and blackjack oak trees and prickly pear cactus growing for miles in the tidal wetlands of a small strip of land jutting into Gardiners Bay. The park’s expansive beach, park and playground area are located at the end of a two-mile paved road easily accessible by car from Route 25 with a park pass. Wooden swings lining the beach invite romance as the sun sets, and nature trails found throughout the area call for adventure. Kayak, canoe and bicycle rentals are also available.

The Railroad Museum of Long Island is housed in a former Long Island Rail Road freight house. The freight house and the former Greenport railroad station (now the East End Seaport Museum) were built in 1892 in the same Victorian style popular at that time. The massive sliding wooden doors originally installed for loading and unloading freight are still intact. Over the years the freight house also served as the parcel post service of the US Post Office, housed a Railway Express Office, and was used for storage of busses. At one time the 3.4 acre site comprising the Greenport rail yard had a four-stall engine house, a coaling area, a water tank, and many other smaller maintenance-of-way struc
