Food Scene

It's a place where locals and visitors alike can sit down in rivah attire (t-shirts, shorts and dock shoes / flip flops) and have drinks and a great meal in a very well appointed restaurant. The cuisine whether seafood or otherwise is influenced by local recipes.

Great Mexican food, iced Margaritas and cold beers! Intimate little taverna where you can sit elbow-to-elbow with the local water men and characters. This place is very popular with and is great for getting a feel for the locals. The service is quick and very good.

Locally owned gourmet burger joint, A variety of fantastic Hamburgers and fries, washed down with beers or a variety of old timey soda (pop) beverages like but not limited to creme soda, root beer, birch beer and my personal favorite, Northern Neck Ginger Ale (locally produced) which will probably become your favorite Ginger Ale (you can purchase it locally in 12 packs). These burgers are gourmet and so are quite expensive but well worth the price.

This is a tiny hole-in-the-wall eatery where you can eat freshly caught seafood straight off the fishing trawler. This place is part of a working seafood packing and distribution plant right on the water where the trawlers dock and unload their catch for processing and distribution to restaurants, seafood outlets, and other customers. A small portion of the trawlers catch can be purchased as take-out or eaten on the premises - inside and outside seating with pristine views of the water. The soft shell crabs (seasonal) and grilled fish sandwich platters are to die for! You will never forget this place!

Bar-B-Q !!! Whether your favorite is pork, beef, or chicken this is the place for you! Authentic Southern style BBQ with a multitude of tasty table-top sauces to experiment with and enjoy. Along with fries, beans, corn, okra, pickles, slaw etc. Inside dining is rustic - think inside of a log cabin or a barn, Outside dining - on shaded picnic tables listening to great music. Live bands play on the outside stage. You will leave this gem of a place pleasantly plump and content wondering how and when you can return!

Enjoy ice cream, milk shakes or a old time malt in this delightfully '50s diner/"Friends" coffee cafe themed ice cream parlor right at the end of main street, Reedville. Many flavors - my favorite is mocha coffee bean - but all of your favorites are there. The service is wonderful and the owner can tell you anything and everything you could want to know about the town of Reedville.

Old school family restaurant where the locals and vistitors alike have come for decades for honest-to-goodness down home cooking. Whether is breakfast/ brunch or lunch you will not be disappointed. As well as the standards, there are open-faced turkey sandwiches and gravy, fried chicken, soups, country ham, liver & onions...their mashed potatoes with beef gravy are awesome! Then there are their deserts...pies, cakes, cobblers and such! The waitresses are amazing, friendly and for the most part have worked at Lee's years and years. This place is well worth the drive to Kilmarnock.

Great sandwiches, coffee, cookies and deserts served in what might have been an old general store complete with old cooking stoves used as counters along with other rustic accompaniments. Your food is made to order off of a huge chalk board menu artfully written along with a selection of gourmet coffees. Great for breakfast sandwiches and coffee and/or juice. Lazy lunches with friends or family...or just the two of you. Inside and shaded outside patio dining Trendy romantic downtown Irvington location. Great little excursion if you are over that way.
