Food Scene

J'aime beaucoup ce restaurant. Chaque fois que j'y vais, je me souviens de ma jeunesse et du fait que c'est cool et sexy d'être en France.

You can't come to Austin without filling up on some breakfast tacos. Your options are spread far and wide, so there's no insistence that you go to Beto's. However, it IS really close by to the Heart Mender and their food is appropriately cheap and delicious. Lots of places in town sell fancy breakfast tacos and charge a lot more, but getting something good for a dirt cheap price just feels more appropriate.

Drinks & Nightlife

Right across the street from the Heart Mender. This is where you will likely experience some good old "weird Austin" vibes.

Parks & Nature

It's a nature! It's science! It's animals! It's FREEEEEEE!!!! I love this place SO MUCH. You're right next to the botanical gardens and Zilker Park and Barton Springs. However this spot often gets overlooked because it's kinda tucked away and therefore less crowded. They have so many friggin' cool owls here. très chouette!

I'm working on getting bikes that guests can borrow. If this is something you're REALLY interested in, let me know and if I haven't already secured some loaner bikes, I'll try to hook you up. If you manage to get out and about in my neighborhood, this bike trail is a really pleasant surprise. It's a fun and beautiful cruise that goes on for miles and miles if you want. Never underestimate the amount of forest area that surrounds Austin.

Arts & Culture

I say "Canopy," but what I really mean is "Museum of Human Achievement." This is a secret little gem of a place that is, for lack of better description, off-the-grid. It's a brilliant warehouse space where several events will be happening at once. It's all free too. Free drinks and free entertainment. Sign up and check out the schedule to see if there's anything going on while you're in town…http://themuseumofhumanachievement.com
