A close convenient vegetarian restaurant around the corner from Trinco House that you can eat at a table or take away. Just go up to the counter and order, then ask for parcel (take-away) or plate. No cutlery so may need to ask for some if you can eat with your hands :)
I do not recommend the restaurant directly across from the bus stand.

This is a casual place to sit outside on their patio to overlook the inner harbor. Also the 1st floor terrace is nice as well in the evening to watch the sunset reflection against the harbor. Recommendation: Deviled cashews. As know this place can stop times be a ghost town.

A steep walk up a hill takes you to a hindu temple (Shiva) that has a nice view of Trinco town on one side and the ocean on the other. Tip: best to take a tuk tuk to the top and then walk down afterwards through Fort Federick

You get a spectacular sunrise from this spot so if you get up early and want to go for a walk head in this direction and then to the fort then to the fish market in a circle...

Getting Around
Located across the street from the main entrance of Trinco House Lane, Iyanar Kerny Lane, you will find the Central Bus Station for Trincomalee. The red colors buses are government and the mostly lighter blue/white ones are private operators. The ticket counter is on your right.
The Tuk Tuk stand is on the right of the bus station and can take you to Uppuveli for about Rps. 300 or Nilaveli depending on where you are going for Rps. 700 and up...

The Trincomalee train station is only 1km. Upon arrival you can take a Tuk Tuk for about Rps. 150 to Trinco House.
