Good place (Midtown) to enjoy the nightlife. Not as crazy as downtown on Broadway, but Vanderbilt students like to go there and have a good time.

Great local coffee shop with also a lunch menu if you are there for some food in addition to coffee and pastry. You'll see college students there with their books or just hanging out with friends, as well as VU Medical center folks.

Close to Belmont University. A novel mix of Thai and American cuisine. They also have a small bar their for drinks and socializing. A good place for conversation as it is quieter than most places to eat.

Open for lunch and dinner. Small restaurant, but great food and a great concept. The owner/chef is working with former homeless men to teach them to cook. They have a prayer wall on one end in which you can add a prayer for them to pray for you. Very friendly place and great food.

Hot Chicken is the current craze in Nashville. This is the place for it! Expect a long line if you go there in person. We always call ahead and get for pickup to beat the lines. Once there, you can grab a table with your take out to have the full experience. You'll see a lot of tourists here, but food is good and reasonable.
