The most economical grocery store for the basics.

Metro Market (previously Pic ‘n Save) is my main destination for groceries in Madison. It is close, has mostly what I need, and the prices are better than Metcalfe's though not as good as Woodman's. Nothing special, but a good standard grocery store.
