Very pretty pub in a qunitessential Yorkshire village. Lie stepping back in time! Excellent sandwiches at lunchtime.

Very hospitable staff, with decent food in the bar. Gammon and chips are excellent. They also have a restaurant. Dog friendly in the bar. Booking at weekends advised. Coxwold is also the village in which Laurence Sterne wrote his famous book The Life and Times of Tristram Shandy. Shandy Hall is open to visitors during the summer months. £/££
