If you don't mind paying for the view, this one is mud free, if you take the stairs from the parish church square or the road that starts on the opposite side of the castle hill. Other paths are not. Castle restaurant is reservations only fancy restaurant. If you have a reservation there, you don't need to pay the entrance fee, but you can expect to pay some 50 EUR per person, for a full meal, plus whatever the wine will cost. At the cafe on the lower courtyard everybody can sit and buy a drink.

The museum located in the baroque rooms of the castle takes you on a journey celebrating the eventful history of Bled from the time when the first settlements in the area appeared to the present day. The furnishing of the museum interprets settlement culture over different eras. A display case at the castle proudly presents one of the most beautiful 6th century findings – a peacock-shaped brooch found below the Bled Castle. It's known to adorn the Garden of Eden and is often referred to as “the bird of paradise”, a symbol of life and wealth. These are also the values that have been associated with Bled in the past, in the present and the values Bled is likely to embody in the future.
