“MUST SEE INSIDE Amazingly detailed historic restoration venue for events of all types. Gloriously built in 1929, by mid-century was the Fox Granada theater and the interior was green-washed with pastel paint. My first job was selling movie tickets in the mid 1960s in the tiny booth. I earned 75¢/hr. I loved that job, but calculators hadn't been invented yet and I was fired because I couldn't correctly do the math required for the nightly report. In the 1990s our H.S. had a heartbreaking tour of the ruinous shambles it had become through abandonment, neglect and vandalism. Thanks to a group of citizens who rescued it from demolition and restored a gem in Emporia’s historic crown.”

“Super comfortable, friendly, casual with large selection of craft beer on tap and bottled. Great mixed drinks, too. PLUS they have local art displayed on the wall and sometimes a surprise musician shows up for music. Yep, they have big screens too, and a few comfy chairs, plus a great patio in back. OPEN 7 days. ”

“Award winning beers, great gourmet pizza, sandwiches, salads, steaks, soups and several good vegetarian options. It's noisy when full, so if you like it quiet, go after the rush. Open 7 days/week. ”
