SItuated outside the primitive city wall, the Basilica was the first Cathedral of Genova in times when the Saracens attacked the city, laying it to waste.

It was the first cathedral in Genova and has a beautiful high alter. The church is especially nice several weeks before/after Christmas when a huge Nativity scene is constructed.
