Hop off the train at Othello. One block north, look for Tammy's Bakery in the SW corner of the shopping plaza. For under $3 you get a banh mi that the New York Times judged one of the best in the U.S.

Vietnamese sandwiches (banh mi) ... the best! stop here for lunch, or grab sandwiches in the morning to eat later in the day as you're traveling the city.
