Todi is a small Umbrian jewel about 15 mi from the Villa. Todi is the Umbria I dreamed of seeing, the one made of small brick-colored villages perched on a hill, blue skies with some soft white clouds and infinite green horizons that frame it.

Todi is a hilltop town. Among the medieval buildings framing the central Piazza del Popolo are the People’s Palace and the Captain’s Palace. The latter houses the Civic Museum and Gallery. Beneath the square are 2 Roman cisterns, part of a series of subterranean tunnels and wells dating from as far back as the 2nd century B.C. The facade of the centuries-old Todi Cathedral features a rose window.

The closest restaurant is less the 4 km from our countryhome: Ristorante La Rosa dei Venti, in the little village of Fiore. It is perfect for families groups as it offer local specialities but also pizza, loved by kids.
