Barry McGee—a local favorite and big deal in the street art world—has designed many murals on this garage in partnership with SFMOMA. You can find a variety of murals around the whole building. His work uses traditional geometric patterns that are uncommon in contemporary murals. A team of artists painted the big murals for him, but he hand-painted some smaller pieces himself. Start on the top floor of the lot and walk down—you’ll find small hand-painted works hiding in the corners, mostly near the elevators.
