Křivoklát is one of the oldest and most important medieval castles of Czech princes and kings. It is located at an altitude of 285–290 meters on a rocky promontory above the Rakovnický brook, a tributary of the Berounka River in the territory of the town of Křivoklát in the Rakovník district in the Central Bohemian Region.
