Hiking trails in Taos Ski Valley, Yerba, Manzanita, Italianos (!) and Gavillan. Hike to Williams Lake from the Bavarian Restaurant and to Wheeler Peak, the highest peak in New Mexico at 13,162 ft. In town, visit the Divisidero Trail or the South Boundary Trail off the 64, just outside of Taos on the way to Angel Fire.

Trail hikes are spectacular. An easy hike would be up to Williams Lake. A day hike could involve Wheeler Peak. There are several wonderful trail hikes just off highway 150 as you come up to the Taos Ski Valley. Take water, sunscreen and a hat because you are at altitude.

So many trails, so little time! A favorite trail is 1/2 way to Red River: Columbine Canyon Trail (#71)--multiple creek crossings, beautiful aspen groves.
