Some of the best beach in the area. Great spot to see dolphins off the jetty. Usually less crowded. Does cost $8 per vehicle to enter.
With the Gulf of Mexico on one side and St. Andrews Bay on the other, visitors who crave swimming, snorkeling or surfing will be more than satisfied. Besides boasting a mile-and-a-half of pristine beaches for fishing and swimming, St. Andrews also offers the chance for visitors to stroll through pines and along dunes and coastal plant communities.
Beautiful Beach area, playground, boat ramp, camping, pier, bathrooms, camp store and seasonal snack bar. See Wildlife including Deer, Raccoons, Rabbits, an rare occasional bear, alligator, birds, eagles, herons, dolphins, fish, and more. I once saw some type of ray at least 5ft across in size.
St. Andrews State park is an awesome family place to go to the beach or to do some sight seeing. The area did sustain some damage from Hurricane Michael, but they have been working on rebuilding it. There's a "Gator Lake" which supposedly has a number of alligators living in it you can see at times (although I never have gotten to see any there yet). There is a spot out there just past the jetties on the bay side that's perfect for kids to play in the ocean as there's never waves. Its also an ideal spot to go snorkeling to see some of the marine life swimming around. Fishing is also very popular out there on the Jetties as you can catch any kind of ocean fish that swims in and out of the Bays there. Just be careful on the rocks. And on the Ocean side of the Jetties is THE BEST surf spot in town. The way the waves come in, the Jetties channel them to the west and they will get barrels out there. Whether you're a surfer, or want to watch the local surfers tear it up, this is where they'll be. Just go on any high surf days and they will be out there.
