Pheasant Branch offers a nice combination of prairie and wooded trails. There are mud pots by the spring.

The 550-acre conservancy protects Pheasant Branch Creek, which supplies Lake Mendota with 1,800 gallons of crystal-clear water every minute. Visitors will find extensive nature trails running throughout this oasis of pristine woods and wetlands. Beautiful trails for walking, running, biking.
