This is one of the most beautiful and diverse hikes. It's a 2.7-mile roundtrip with an elevation gain is 718 feet so bring some water to hydrate. The trailhead is located just south of Gold Beach, it features beautiful wildflowers, incredible views, and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching. If you are not up for the hike you can still drive to the parking lot to see the views.

Go for a hike with awesome long range views of Gold Beach and the Pacific. Take the turn off 101, go left until you get to a circle parking lot. At the coastal trail head go to the left. This leads all the way down (about 1000 ft change in altitude) to a secluded beach. It is a pretty steep climb down the last 20 feet, but there is a rope. It is worth it.

A deep forest of Sitka spruce covers most of the park and a 1.5 mile walking trail takes you out to the lower levels of the cape. If you're lucky, the trail will give you a chance to enjoy awe-inspiring views of the gray whales on their bi-annual migrations.
