The Chicago Botanic Garden (located about 30 minutes outside of the city) is always a wonderful place to spend time. No matter the season, it is a fantastic place to visit and stroll, taking in the solitude, beauty, and the unexpected wonders of nature. Every season brings a palette of new colors, textures, and breadth of beauty. There are many spots to pause and absorb the sights and sounds of nature. The greenhouses also offer endless opportunities to experience plants in various habitats and are a must during any seasons inclement weather. Check the website for live music events as well. Bring a picnic, relax, and enjoy the day.

A bit of a drive; but worth it for the beautifully landscaped park.

The Chicago Botannic Garden is one of the best in the US. There are new plantings every season with some indoor exhibits.
