Cute little town about 30 mins away with music, wine and sightseeing...(take the less traveled 'River Road' to get there)...you won't be disappointed!
Gruene is a fun place to visit, music, food, winery, wine tasting, shopping...they even have some stores the men will like. We go all the time. Large free parking area. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
Sweet historic town with lots of cute shops, food, music all on the river!
A great place to wander around, check out local wineries, shops, restaurants, and even the infamous Gruene Hall!

“Discovered this little gem taking some kids on a field trip. Was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! You can tour a locomotive (the engine) , dining car, caboose and more! The depot houses a museum of train memorabilia and a really large model train setup. Amazingly, there is no charge for admission!”

“This old post office is now converted into a seafood restaurant. More upscale, white table cloth, but never stuffy. It has amazing oysters. Call ahead. There is usually a wait.”
