Probably every guide book in Austin recommends Barton Springs, so we might as well too. They require reservations now so plan ahead. Its definitely worth it.
Amazing spring-fed pool maintaining a 68-degree temperature year-round with lifeguards on duty. Tops optional! Affordable admission at the entrance, however, there's a free section that's not as maintained right next to it.
Let’s face it… Texas is hot. Beat the heat and cool off at the springs and relax on the grassy hill. Water temperature is around 70 degrees year round. A must-visit spot in Austin.
An Austin staple, especially to cool off on a hot summer day! Will need cash to pay entrance, $9 per adult.
The crown jewel in the Austin parks system. Natural spring fed pool. Kid's play area, train, hiking pays, picnic areas.
Barton Springs Pool is a recreational spring fed swimming pool located within Zilker Park. The pool holds a constant temperature of 68 degrees. It is extremely refreshing anytime of year.
Cool off in refreshingly chilly water during the heat of summer. Spring fed from underground so the water is always 68 degrees F.
Beautiful pool accessible year-round, water temperature is 68-72F and super clear spring water. Enjoyable experience!
Unless you enjoy crowds, try to go during the weekdays. Water stays at 68 F year round. Natural pool it’s one of my favorite attractions in Austin.

“As Austin’s premier art museum, the Blanton has an impressive, dizzyingly genre-spanning collection that includes more than 19,000 works, including Renaissance paintings, modern Native American art, a massive prints collection, Roman-era pottery and one of the best Latin American collections in the country. Don’t miss Ellsworth Kelly’s Austin, a 2,715sq ft (252sq m) stone chapel with colored glass windows and black-and-white marble panels; it’s among his most notable works.”
