Also called Killarney, it is a Scottish Baronial style residence named for Charles Fourier Stollmeyer and is said to be patterned after a wing of Balmoral Castle.

One of the Magnificent Seven around the Queen’s Park Savannah, it was completed in 1904 in the Scottish Baronial architectural style and is thought to have been inspired by a wing of Balmoral Castle in Scotland. It was called Killarney by the family but during the second world war it was occupied by US forces who called it “The Castle” hence the name Stollmeyer’s Castle – 30 minute (15.1 km) drive from Green Space.

Built by Karen's great-great grandfather in 1904, Stollmeyer's Castle, or Castle Killarney as it is now called, is one of what are known as the Magnificent Seven group of heritage buildings around the Queen's Park Savannah. Talk a walking tour, or simply meander your way down the savannah, taking in the beautiful turn of the century buildings while drinking a freshly opened coconut from one of the curbside vendors, a tradition that was started by Karen's great-great grandfather, who would bring his coconuts in donkey carts from Mayaro to POS, to be sold on the side of the street around the savannah, a tradition which endures to this day!
