Getty museum in replica of Greek palace displays collection of antiquities. Reserve parking or take Uber/Lyft
Free to enter, pay to park, or free if you have already paid to park at “The Getty” in same day visit. This is a much smaller museum but overlooks Malibu Beach, great location and great historical monuments.
Kids love the art cultures. Excellent extension of art history class. My kid @ high school went to Getty for extra credit assignment. She truly enjoyed the experience and has learned so much within the hours of spending time at the museum with her friends.
Beautiful drive up PCH to even more beautiful historic villa with world class art.
Off the PCH... could be done on a nice day with a drive up towards Malibu, Pacific Palisades
We absolutely love this location! It’s family friendly because the kids love climbing, running around, and exploring the grounds. It’s filled with gardens, fountains, and beautiful walks. For history lovers, this collection is amazing.

“Free! Just pay for parking. Majestic hilltop buildings, the art is Ok, the traveling collections can be great, but the real attraction is the space and gardens themselves. Must not miss!”

“LACMA is definitely one of LA’s coolest attractions. Outside it has the famous row of lights that attract a number of tourists and there’s a lot of other cool art inside that’s worth checking out. It also has a solid (but pricey) outdoor restaurant called Ray’s & Stark Bar, which is great for happy hour or a bite between exhibits. The Jazz at LACMA summer series is a free outdoor performance by SoCal jazz musicians with special appearances in the past by jazz legends like John Clayton, and Billy Childs. What to know before you go: LACMA is open 11am to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 11am to 8pm on Friday, and 10am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday.”

“10 minutes away, this museums offer a very nice facility, a great coffee shop and an amazing gift shop. You will usually find temporary exhibits of current -often conceptual- art. Half of the time you leave the place scratching your head wondering what it all means but, it's sooo convenient, and free:)”
