Home to a small permanent collection and also profiles young Latino artists. Check this out if you’re near downtown! 419 Congress Avenue
One of our favorite museums in town. We love their yearly Dia de los Muertos alters and activities.
Mexic-Arte Museum is a fine arts museum in Austin, Texas. The Mission of the organization is to enrich and educate the community through the presentation and promotion of traditional and contemporary Mexican, Latino, and Latino art and culture.
Especially visit in October when there’s a splendid display of alters honoring the dearly departed.
Interesting Mexican art and cultural museum. I also recommend “La Peña,” a similar museum a 3 min walk from this one that has free admission.

“As Austin’s premier art museum, the Blanton has an impressive, dizzyingly genre-spanning collection that includes more than 19,000 works, including Renaissance paintings, modern Native American art, a massive prints collection, Roman-era pottery and one of the best Latin American collections in the country. Don’t miss Ellsworth Kelly’s Austin, a 2,715sq ft (252sq m) stone chapel with colored glass windows and black-and-white marble panels; it’s among his most notable works.”
