This was home to Mark Twain and his family from 1874 to 1891. It was designed by Edward Tuckerman Potter and built in the American High Gothic style. Clemens biographer Justin Kaplan has called it "part steamboat, part medieval fortress and part cuckoo clock.
Voted CT’s favorite tourist site & Nat'l Historic Landmark. Home to Samuel Clemmons and his family from 1874-1891. 25-room home with stunning Gothic architecture including glass conservatory, library and iconic billiard room.
This is the home of Samuel Clemens, author of Tom Sawyer and many more. I love words and this museum is good for word lovers!
Mark Twain's home is a beautiful Queen Anne style design, and the tours are fabulous.
