Lewiston was the final stop for many slaves escaping to freedom in Canada via the Underground Railroad. Visit the Underground Railroad Museum in Niagara Falls to learn more about the Underground Railroad and the role of many local citizens in the fight to end slavery in the 1800’s.

This region is rich in history of the Underground Railroad and this newer museum has great interactive exhibits. It's very well done and interesting.
