The Borghese Gallery was founded at the beginning of the 17th century by cardinal Scipione Borghese and houses still nowadays one of the most impressive art collections not only in Rome, but in the whole world: you will see paintings by Caravaggio, Titian and Raphael and the incomparable sculptures by Bernini and Canova. The tour will allow enough time to explore the stories behind the masterpieces of the Borghese collection. The Gallery still retains the 18th century decorations of precious marbles on the floors and stunning frescoes on the ceilings, so that every inch of it feels like a marvelous work of art. To protect the Gallery tickets are limited - only a fixed number of people are allowed inside at any given time. For this reason the visit is always peaceful and it never feels too crowded, but tickets sell out far in advance. Make sure not to miss out the incredible opportunity to visit one of the wonderful attractions Rome has to offer! For more info about this tour don’t hesitate to contact me.

The palace that now houses the Gallery was the party villa of the noble Borghese family and is dating back to early XVI century. The Cardinal Scipione Borghese, nephew of Pope V, was a great art collector and true passionate of ancient Roman art, Caravaggio, Bernini, Raphael and Titian works, among the others. The major part of Scipione Borghese’s collection is still housed in the Gallery, which boasts one of the most impressive art collections in the world, for this reason is a must-see during your holiday in Rome.
