A great free museum with dinosaurs, whales, local Australian exhibits, also has a science centre below (fee to pay) which is brilliant for kids, you can easily while a few hours away here

It can be fun to check out the Queensland Museum and Science Centre, they often change themes of what the Museum is about such as 'Mummy's' or 'Dinosaurs' etc so definitely check out what theme it is during your stay to see if it sparks your interest!
