J.T. Farnum’s has been a local favorite since 1941, when at the time it was called Wilson’s Fried Clams, when owned by the Wilson family. In 1944 the Farnum family adopted the family business and remained in the family for 50 years until Terry and Joseph Cellucci purchased the restaurant in 1994, and kept the name but added their initials as a personal touch, thus named J.T. Farnums.

Farnham's gives Woodman's a run for their money and has the advantage of being on a marsh - look for the osprey's who nest in the area. 88 Eastern Ave., Essex

Another great fried seafood place in Essex - this place is BYOB and you can sit outside on the picnic table and check out the marsh

Eat in or picnic overlooking Eben's Creek and the Great Salt Marsh with views of Hog Island. Known for their famous fried clams and the "Best Seafood Chowder", receiving awards from Phantom Gourmet, Best of Boston, and Yankee Magazine. Featured on TV, Diners and Dives.
