One of the most beautiful gardens on the island, with spectacular views overlooking Funchal. The estate dates from 1881 and was created by the Reid family as their private park. The garden is home to a fascinating collection of plants from all corners of the globe. There is also a small natural history museum and a cable car that connects the gardens to Monte parish.

Visit the Botanical Garden of Funchal, one of the largest in Portugal, where visitors find more than 2,500 plant species and 300 species of Madeiran birds. You can get there by car, cable car and get connected to Monte Palace another beatiful garden and museum and public transport .
