Adjacent to Brown's campus is the RISD Museum: one of Providence's premier locations for culture, art, and design. The museum features artistic exhibits from many different periods and places. I particularly enjoy the modern art wing and the student art sections!
Rhode Island School of Design's museum of art and culture-- a gem of a museum! You really could spend an entire day (or more) here. Admission is free every Sunday (10 am–5 pm) and on the third Thursday evening of each month (5–9 pm).
Great collection. Small museum so easy to visit & take in whole place without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Free on Sundays.

“We've lived in New Orleans, and the mushroom po-boy here is one of the best that I and my meat-loving husband have ever had. Seriously! In addition to dinner, they also have an excellent brunch. This is the same group that operates the delicious veg spots Garden Grille and Wildflour Vegan bakery. ”

“Julian's is a delicious staple of Providence and is known for their Sunday Funday brunches, great food/drinks, and an overall chill atmosphere. Julian's is also a great place to meet locals. The food is super yummy, but waiting to be seated on Sundays can be a while, so a drink or two might be in order in the meantime. ;)”
