Sunday mornings. The mussel fritters are the absolute best. Cultural icon. It's a flea market so anything and everything is there. 30 min brisk walk.

The Takapuna Sunday markets are well known throughout Auckland, but especially the peninsula - every Sunday 6am-12pm. You can find anything here from fresh produce, street food, clothing, arts & crafts and genuine antiques and other knick knacks. Cash only, and be prepared to bargain if that's your thing - otherwise items are marked for price as well :)
