Get a historical understanding of Lubbock’s landscape and culture by touring the interior museum or strolling the exterior boardwalk. Just be sure to time your visit outside to avoid high temperatures often reached late summer.

Best time to go is in the winter. It feels blazing hot in the summer. Learn about the ancient people's use of the natural springs and low water table in this area. Hiking trails go through the interpretive park. Admission is free, or was last time I was there!

Great place for history buffs to learn about the early settlements of the region. Also, they occasionally have archaeology students digging for new artifacts which is pretty cool to watch. Peaceful hiking trails.
