High on the Pocono Plateau, over 1,800 feet above sea level, Promised Land State Park is 3,000 acres of natural wonderland. It is surrounded by over 12,464 acres of Delaware State Forest, densely covered with Oak, beech, hemlock and maple. There are 2 lovely lakes, one with a well-equipped picnic area, a popular starting point for exploring the area.

Discover stunning beauty with a hike among the maple and hemlock trees in this state park. Around 3,000 acres in size, the park offers year-round activities. In the winter months, use the hiking trails to enjoy some cross-country skiing. Lakes and several small streams dot the park, so you can fish and cool off in the heat. Stop by the Masker Museum to learn more about the Civilian Conservation Corps. With three campground area, this Delaware state forest, including natural areas, is a great place to pitch a tent. The facilities range from full hookups and restroom with showers to vault toilets. You can bring your horse and stay at the Hemlock Hill Equestrian Campground with its six spots. It also has water troughs. Rustic cabins are an ideal spot for those that want a little comfort with their outdoor experience. Hidden among the evergreen trees, you find 12 cabins close to the Lower Lake. These homes have electricity, small kitchen, outdoor fire rings, and a nearby bathroom.
