“The Empire State Building is more than a spectacular view. It’s an immersive experience inside a world famous landmark. In addition to the Observation Decks, a new entrance on 34th street, two story building model, self-service ticketing kiosks available in nine languages, the restored lobby with its stunning art deco ceiling murals and the historical Dare To Dream Exhibit.”

“Take the one train (just 300 yards from your apt) downtown to the last stop and get on the Staten Island ferry for incredible views of the Statue of Liberty. It might still be free, if not, it is not expensive.”

“Times Square is the most iconic area of the city. While it is always crowded, first time visitors shouldn't miss the bright lights. This location is even more exciting after the sun goes down and you can really appreciate all the chaos.”

Parc
“A walk, peddle, or carriage ride through the crisscrossing pathways of Central Park is a must-do on anyone's New York City itinerary. In winter, you can even lace up your skates and glide across Wollman Rink. This huge park in the city center, a half-mile wide and 2.5 miles long, is one of the things that makes New York such a beautiful and livable city. Besides being a great place to experience a little nature, Central Park has many attractions within its borders, and most of them are free, making it one of the few cheap things to do in NYC. Some of the most popular places to visit include the Belvedere Castle, Strawberry Fields, the Central Park Zoo, and the Lake. If you are exploring the park on your own, start by picking up a map at one of the visitor centers and plot your routing.”
