There are lots of artists, writers, and creative people who live in Venice, and I think that's what makes it special. It’s also a fantastic place to walk on the beach, bike, or skateboard to clear your head before a writing session. As a writer, I think you need to connect with your environment, and there’s nothing like an ocean breeze to inspire. Once you've gained inspiration from Venice’s natural beauty, hop inside Intelligentsia on Abbot Kinney to grab a coffee and start writing, or get your sugar fix from Salt and Straw or Blue Star donuts.

Interesting people watching with entertaining street performers. You can drink and eat at laid back beach bar or choose a fine dining restaurant . Very hip and trendy. The beach bike path goes for miles and there is something for all ages
Like a circus sideshow, you'll find street performers, muscle beach athletes, skateboarders and who knows who else.
Lots of crazy stuff here, but I recommend you rent bikes (or a segway) and roll along the bike path. It's an experience.
Lots of street vendors, street art, a world-famous skate park and the home of Muscle Beach! Get a tan, see the spectacle, and then stop in at one of the local eateries (Dudley Market, High Lounge at the Hotel Erwin or the Waterfront Venice are good depending what you're looking for)
Lots of Crazies here. But Love Crazy in LA. AKA muscle each. There are lots of streets show, local eats, dispensaries, hippy wibe, and the beach. Fantastic place to walk on the beach, bike, or skateboard.
