The park is part of the Green Chain Walk, which links green spaces from the Thames to Crystal Palace Park. It’s a key location in director Michelangelo Antonioni’s classic 1966 swinging London film, Blow-Up. It’s the spot where the photographer, Thomas, thinks he’s witnessed a murder and where he later returns for the famous imaginary tennis scene. According to legend, during filming Antonioni insisted the scorched summer grass be painted green.
