The best spot to stop in Ballina, IMHO - situated right on the river and in the centre of town, The Wharf Bar & Restaurant takes advantage of the stunning Richmond River backdrop with its open plan dining area, which allows it to boast one of the most spectacular sunsets in all of Australia.

Great meals, good wine list, great service. You can get a burger or a fancy meal - and have a great view of the Richmond river.

Point of Interest
“It's one of the most recognisable images in surfing: the poster for the classic 1972 movie Morning of the Earth. The surfer on the left, standing ready to enter the waves at Uluwatu in Bali, is Rusty Miller. Born and raised in California, he settled in Byron in the 1970's. Book a surf session with Rusty or his daughter Tyler. They hold an exclusive license for teaching ‘one-on-ones’ at Watego’s Beach and also at the iconic surfing beach The Pass. Each lesson is 1.5 – 2 hours in duration. For further information and bookings call Rusty on +61 (02) 6685 5776 ”
