**** FEB 2024 - This pub is currently CLOSED - we would recommend The Inn on the Green in Wentnor if you are looking for pub food nearby. **** We are so lucky to have this pub just 10 minutes' walk along our footpath whilst following the brook downstream. HOWEVER, it remains very hit and miss at the moment, particularly as it is undergoing major refurbishment so it definitely isn't somewhere we would recommend for food. Some of our guests have tried it with a degree of success and others (including ourselves) without. Booking would be essential if you want to risk it as food is not always served. They sometimes offer daytime and evening entertainment, details of which can be found on their social media. Always check the opening times or ring to book a table as our local pubs sometimes close on a Monday.

The Bridges at Ratlinghope (pronounced, unbelievably, ‘Ratchup’!) is another ancient, traditional pub in a wonderful spot, being the start and end point for some excellent walks in the Shropshire Hills. A beautiful 30 minute drive from Belle Cottage.

Great food here, the greens are grown by the owners organically and are incredibly tasty, so just a side salad tastes full of life and is also well dressed! Great place to eat lunch or supper. (probably best to book if wanting supper or Sunday lunch) Also to walk nearby and end up here for sandwiches and excellent chips.
