Stradbally Cove is a a 5 minute walk downhill from the village square. It is a beautiful long narrow beach with coastline protection on both sides. It can be quite a distance to walk to reach the sea even at high tide. It is a great quite beach to spend the day with the family exploring the coastline or relaxing on a sunny day.

Mahon Falls is an 80m waterfall nestled in the Comeragh Mountains near Lemybrien, County Waterford. It is a short drive from the house and there is a car park close to the falls with a not too strenuous walk to get to them. The dramatic waterfall which is surrounded by breathtaking beauty makes this a trip not to be missed. Visitors can also see sheep and goats dotted along the mountainsides.

Dungarvan is a harbour town located at the heart of County Waterford and the nearest large town to Stradbally where you can find everything you may need. There are great restaurants such as the Tannery, nice shops to browse or even just take in the sights and stroll around the harbour.

Bunmahon is the next village to the east along the Copper Coast 10 minute drive away. This village is one of the copper coast's unchanged areas as it has not been touched by developers and boasts numerous beaches and wildlife. It's another great place to spend the day at the beach or take a surfing lesson in summer months.

Tramore is a fun seaside town known to attract family visitors for its many leisure activities such as Splashworld, the largest indoor aqua adventure playground in the South East, surfing, fishing, hiking, horse riding, golf and Amusement Park to amuse all ages. Tramore is a great day out for fish and chips or an ice cream by the seaside after a long day learning to surf. Tramore is linked to Stradbally by a local bus that runs from Dungarvan to Tramore 3 times daily (367, 367a)

Home to Flahavans mill, with many nice shops and cafes to take a break and have a coffee. The Waterford Greenway passes through the village over the disused viaduct which has stunning views from the top.

Bunmahon Beach is a 5km sandy beach backed by sand dunes with tall cliffs at each end offering protection and shelter to the beach area. There is a caravan park, modern outdoor play park and basketball court located directly behind the beach and it is also well serviced with food outlets, shops and amusements. Local, Bunmahon Surf School offers lessons during summer months in Surfing, Windsurfing & Kitesurfing.
