Sightseeing
Beautiful, easy walk or bike with the Augusta canal on one side and the Savannah river on the other. You can access the trail through Eisenhower park within the National Hills neighborhood. As soon as you cross the train tracks into Eisenhower Park, take the immediate right turn and drive to the gravel lot at the very end for parking. There will be some posts with a chain blocking the road (this is only to prohibit cars), but an opening for people. Keep following the path under the highway and you will come to a bridge crossing the Augusta canal to the water pumping station. There will be signs with destinations. To the right, you will Find the Aqueduct park, and to the left will be The Clearing ( beautiful view and perfect for picnics). Both are about a mile walk from the station and the trail is pet friendly as well. For an access closer to the Acqueducts, the Lake Olmsted Trailhead is where to go!
