Sit at the bar and get the Bob Armstrong queso. It's ridiculous and has to be a top 2 queso in town. OG levels of queso cred. Good example of local fav TexMex and better than Chuys on Barton Springs.

In my top 3 bbq joints in Austin. It's TexMex meets TexBBQ. The brisket taco on flour is bonkers. You'll need a car to get there.

CP's fav Texas bbq, hands down. This would be a 45-60 min road trip to Lockhart, TX, the epicenter of what is Central Texas bbq which represents what people think of as Texas bbq. People do the taste test of Kreuz and Smittys to complete the trifecta. There's an Austin location as well about 10 minutes by car from Clarksville.
