Ernst Ludwig Kirchner lived in Davos from 1918 until his death. His comprehensive work was pioneering for German Expressionism. The Kirchner Museum Davos opened in 1992 and boasts the largest collection of his works in the world. The museum building was designed by Zurich architects Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer and, with its plain and logical form, is highly esteemed in international architectural circles. The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday. The museum is closed on Mondays
