The 86ft octagonal Naze Tower was built in 1720 as a navigational mark to aid shipping. Originally housing a beacon it is the predecessor of the reflective lighthouse that became commonplace in the 19th century.

If you can manage the climb to the top it's well worth the view, after a restoration and renovation in recent years the Naze tower and education centre is a great place for all the family. Excellent dog walks and shark tooth hunting here. pay as you display car park.
