Probably one of, if not my favourite neighbourhood of central Lisbon. Slightly removed from the main drag but still in the middle of it all. Great restaurant and array of shops surrounding the main garden square and just of it. Go and explore and immerse yourself in the area around it. Just naming a few places such as: Embaixada, Casa Pau-Brasil, Cevicheria, Pavilhão Chines, Tapisco, Memmo, 2 quiosques on the square, etc etc, etc!

Great little park in the middle of the city, and a few minutes away from the botanical garden; we really like a small cafè called Dolce Real in Rua Dom Pedro V 119, 1250-096, which is facing it

Try to walk down the stairs that leads you to the water fountain placed in the middle of the garden. There is a beautiful surprise hidden underneath the water fountain. There is an organic food market every Saturday and once or twice a month there is a market with books, clothes and vintage objects too.
