If you're out exploring the Mojave National Preserve and Route 66, consider a stop here in Goffs, an old railroad town that was situated on an early alignment of Route 66. The schoolhouse is now a museum, and the grounds include a working 10-stamp ore mill and other incredible desert artifacts. It's usually a good idea to check in with these folks before going, to ensure they're open.
