West Bay Beach has been named one of 10 best beaches in the world and for good reason! Though, its not the largest beach in the Caribbean, it is glorious! Powdery white sand, crystal clear, azure waters with nice snorkeling near the shore, at the very western tip. It is a resort area, with resorts ranging from luxury resorts such as Gran Roatan to more "rustic' style cabin resorts. They are numerous dive shops, restaurants, and beach bars to chose from , as well as water sports and activities for the entire family. If you are not staying at one of the beachfront resorts, rent a beach chair and enjoy your day-Paradise Beach Resort, rents chairs for $12.00 daily , but offer a credit towards your food and drink purchase, so it ends up being almost free!! Cons: the beach can get pretty crowded on cruise ship days, so its best early mornings and after 3pm for a bit more space and peaceful beach experience

West Bay is one of two main public beaches on the island... West Bay is about 45 minutes to an hour from First Bight, depending on traffic, and offers a stunning white sand beach lined with resorts and restaurants. A highly touristed spot on the island, I like to describe it as the Roatan equivalent of Cancun. It's a great place to snorkel from the shore or catch a glass bottom boat tour. Day passes for most resorts can be purchased if you'd like access to lounge chairs or a pool
