22 October 2021, a brand new museum opened by Oslo’s waterfront, tailor-made for the worlds largest collection of art by Edvard Munch. The new MUNCH will be the number one destination for experiencing Edvard Munch’s life and art.

If there is one museum you should visit when in Oslo, this is the one. Munch (re)opened in 2021 and is spectacular. The art is of course very beautiful, but so is the view from inside the museum. You get both the city view and the ocean view in one.

Must visit the new Munch museum even if you are not big fan of his artwork. The museum showing collection of his works, interactive rooms and activities, but also to be on the high level overlooked the Oslo Fjord is fun.

The Munch Museum, marketed as MUNCH from 2020, is an art museum in Bjørvika in Oslo. The museum contains Edvard Munch's surviving works which he bequeathed to Oslo Municipality in 1940. The museum opened its doors to the public in 1963, a hundred years after the painter and graphic artist's birth. The museum was located on Tøyen until it was moved in 2021 to a new museum building called Lambda, in Bjørvika.
