The Fauquier History Museum at the Old Jail The Fauquier Historical Society has over 300 members dedicated to preserving Fauquier County's rich history. We maintain a local museum, housed in an 1808 jail, in Warrenton beside the Fauquier County Courthouse.

For history and paranormal buffs alike, the Old Jail is a gem. The staff are so friendly and knowledgable and the exhibits are fascinating. The Old Jail, aside from being a museum, was built in 1808, and is home to several spirits.
