Roberts Memorial Provincial Park is a 14-hectare park located southeast of Nanaimo on southern Vancouver Island. Like many small parks that were gifted to the province in remembrance by area families, an atmosphere of transcendent serenity permeates Roberts Memorial Park. The park contains unique sandstone ledges. These ledges are part of the geological heritage of Vancouver Island and represent ancient sea beds. The ledges serve as a haul-out location for sea lions. The solitude is broken only by the barking of sea lions offshore and the mewling of sea gulls, great blue herons, and the occasional Pacific Loon.
